Sony Ericsson XPERIA Ray has got the approval from FCC (Federal Communications Commission), suggesting that it will hopefully make it up to North American markets by next month. The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Ray was announced last month at the Singapore’s CommunicAsia expo, and is now currently available for pre-order in United Kingdom.

According to several reports the XPERIA Ray has got the Commission’s approval features UMTS II and UMTS V bands (850 MHz and 1900 MHz), suggesting its launch on AT&T in the US and by Canada’s major mobile carriers. However FCC approval isn’t a full guarantee that it will launch in North America but it does hints of such a possibility. Sony Ericsson XPERIA Ray is said to land somewhere in the mid-range category of Smartphones, although it will come with the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system at the time of launch.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Ray will only be 9.4mm thin, and will feature a 3.3 inch FWVGA Reality Display. Along with it, it will also have Bravia Mobile engine, an 8 megapixel camera with autofocus along with 720p video recording. And to power this Smartphone there will be a 1GHz processor under the hood. If you are in UK then you can pre-order this device right now and can get your hands on it as soon as starting August. For this device you must have at least £349.99, which is about $558. Stay tuned and we will let you known if we hear anything about its North American release.
